Healthcare Ethics

Healthcare ethics is a fundamental discipline that guides moral decision-making in medical practice, research, and health policy. It is based on core principles such as autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice, which help ensure respect for patients’ rights, safety, and dignity. Ethical healthcare practice emphasizes informed consent, confidentiality, and honesty in communication between healthcare providers and patients. It also addresses complex issues such as end-of-life care, allocation of limited resources, patient safety, and equity in access to healthcare services.

In modern healthcare, ethical considerations extend to emerging areas including digital health, artificial intelligence, genetic testing, and clinical research. Healthcare ethics plays a crucial role in balancing technological advancement with human values and social responsibility. By promoting fairness, accountability, and compassion, healthcare ethics strengthens trust between patients and providers and supports high-quality, patient-centered care within diverse healthcare systems worldwide.
